With December 2015 breaking weather records: the warmest December since records began in 1910 and the wettest calendar month ever on record – what can we blame? Can we link it to global warming and climate change?
Well the meteorologists are saying that though climate change is make Britain warm up by about 1 degree centigrade each year, the average of 4 degrees warmer we experienced in December is more down to the jet stream bringing storms and mild air onto the British isles. This meanwhile can be down to the El Nino weather phenomenon and man made climate change.
So will we ever need our hat, gloves and scarf this winter? Forecasters reckon it’ll stay mild for a while longer (so don’t forget the waterproofs and umbrella) with a sharp cold spell coming at the end of the winter months.
