Poppy Seeds sent to every UK School

The British government are sending a packet of poppy seeds to every school so they can be planted as a form of remembrance for WWI.

The sending of poppy seeds is another government initiative to promote the centenary of WWI, alongside the government funding for two students and a teacher from every school to visit WWI battlefields.

I wonder which our Year 9 thinks is a better form of memorial: poppy seeds or a visit to Belgium?

  1. This is a brilliant idea firstly it will make us remember the people who fought for our country and secondly because it will make our school quad more pleasant because it’s mostly weeds.

  2. I definately believe this is a fantastic way of rememberance as It can get everyone involved and a fun lesson could be made planting them.
