Is Community more cohesive when people integrate or segregate?

Article saying you feel more British if you integrate

Researchers from two universities, Oxford and Essex, have revealed a report which analyses how community cohesion can be improved by integration of immigrants and ethnic minorities. Careful when you read the article, as the Daily Mail generally tries to promote people losing some of their own ethnic or national identities, and becoming more ‘traditionally British’.

  1. Community cohesion can be improved by allowing people to live with diiffrent neighbours so that they can form a community with diffrent faiths

  2. We can improve community cohesion by:
creating a common vision and sense of belonging for everyone.
valuing and appreciating people from different backgrounds and circumstances.
providing similar life opportunities for people from different backgrounds.
developing strong, positive relationships between people from different backgrounds in the workplace, in schools and within neighbourhoods.
brokering good relations between groups and communities.

  3. From community cohesion we can learn that so many minorites geoups come to Britain which makes people feel more home but also so many people become poor and live on the streets because people come over to Britain.
