How accurate is the new film about Nelson Mandela?

Whenever you watch a film based on a true story it leaves you wondering how much of it is true and which parts are exaggerated or made up completely. This article in The Guardian tries to measure how historically accurate the film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom actually is.

  1. I think movies based on true stories might not be a 100%, however they fulfill the purpose of giving you a general idea on what happened and how the victims/people involved felt and what their attitudes towards the situation were.
    On Saturday, i watched 12 Years a Slave and it really gave me an insight and strengthened my knowledge on black rights.

    • I agree, not all films are accurate to the truth. Sometimes they tweek it a bit which makes a big difference.
      Need to watch 12 Years a Slave at the movies!
